Flying the new UMX Micro Radian
« on: April 22, 2014, 01:13:25 PM »
Went to the field this morning to try out my new Micro Radian and all I can say is WOW!

The AS3X keeps it very stable and the motor powers it easily to altitude (about 300' today) once the power is off she floats effortlessly even in mild winds 5~8mph we had this morning. I was able to snag a couple of thermals which shot her up to spek height (yeah its probably only 500' but it looks cool)
Range is not an issue since you would lose sight long before radio range, I tested it this morning in the park behind the house and got to about 1300' before losing contact.

Horizon is out of stock right now but theres a few left at G-Force http://www.horizonhobby.com/products/umx-trade-radian-reg-bnf-EFLU2980

I love the smell of Balsa in the morning!

Yes, but where do you put your name and AMA number that don't mess up the CG?
