Tony posted this enthusiastic report on RC Groups. Congratulations! A real beauty!
And here is the link to the video from the towplane.
Martin Weberschock improved the F3B speed world record dramatically from 13.8s previously. Here’s the video. What a launch!
Festo demonstrated this helium filled balloon. It is powered by two LiPo batteries and an electric motor powering the eight tentacles. In case you are wondering, yes, there is an Aqua Jelly. Charlie NEEDS this for his garage
Our brave pilots are not deterred by gusty wind…
Charlie maidened his incredibly fast new toy this Wednesday. John took these beautiful shots.

The SKSS proudly presents our 2nd Scale Aero Tow. This follows up our hugely successful event last year. We’ll have electric tugs that have demonstrated their ability to tow 15+lb sailplanes. If you don’t have a scale sailplane, bring any sailplane with a tow release. A winch will be available during non-tow periods. We have a large, mowed field, for gentle take-offs and landings.
There are several hotels in the Newark area if you’re staying over the weekend. Hotel #1 is the closest to the field. All are within a few minutes drive.
If you want to bring the family, there are several local attractions:
What to do in Delaware
Longwood Gardens
Winterthur

Tax Free Shopping
We fly within the State Park system so there is an entrance fee: $3/day for Delaware registered vehicles and $6/day for non-Delaware registered vehicles.
A really nice video for inspiration (thanks, Alex!).
Phil Barnes started this on Google Maps. He took the time to enter all locations for ESL DLG contests in 2008.
The LSF website has updated information regarding dates and locations for each event.
Contest season is upon us! We are happy to host the SKSS Thermal Duration contest as part of the ESL contest schedule. This is an AMA sanctioned event.
The contest tasks will be announced by the Contest Director (based on previous years - duration, open winch with 30 minute working time; landing task: runway). We will likely fly seven rounds per day and no flight after 3pm on Sunday. Lunch will be provided (for a small nominal fee). Registration information can be found on the ESL website. Follow this link for directions. We will have a Novice class ($5 registration per day).
We had a lot of fun in previous years and look forward to seeing you! This post will be updated as more information becomes available.
